The EDATS Project Reaches the CEV Cup Round of 16!
Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza won the first leg of the CEV Cup Round of 16 with a 3–1 victory over the Czech team Jihostroj České Budějovice, in a match played in Cagliari at a sold-out PalaPirastu filled with a festive atmosphere.
With this extraordinary event, international volleyball returned to Sardinia. The aim of the occasion was to promote volleyball on the island and to bring international volleyball to a region where this sport is practised and followed with great passion.
Smiles, celebration, entertainment and strong emotions filled the arena. In the stands, alongside the President of FIPAV Sardinia, Eliseo Secci, was the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation, Giuseppe Manfredi. Representatives of administrative and sports institutions, committee members, national team coaches, young people, families, clubs, managers, coaches, athletes, referees and volleyball fans packed the venue, showing strong support and warmly welcoming the world-class players who took to the court.
It was a great honour for the EDATS project to promote the ERASMUS+ programme and the achievements reached through European partnership at such a prestigious event and in such a celebratory setting.
The Italian partners of the project — Pallavolo Alfieri, UNICA and DAUVEA — were all present at the event, which proved to be a truly outstanding experience. There was strong interest from the audience, and the project received positive feedback, encouragement and recognition from highly respected professionals. This was a genuine confirmation for us that what we are doing is important, valuable and that we are on the right path.
Go Piacenza, go Sardinia, go VOLLEYBALL, go EDATS!
