The EDATS Project at the Olympic Finals!

Between June 6–8, more than two hundred athletes took part in the national school sports finals for volleyball in Békéscsaba. The EDATS project was also promoted during the event!

In total, schools entered nearly 300 teams in the volleyball competition of the School Olympics, which set a new record for entries in Hungary. The top 8 boys’ and 8 girls’ teams qualified for the national finals, held in Békéscsaba, one of the strongholds of Hungarian volleyball. The event was organized by the Békés County School Sports Association.

The opening ceremony was attended by Péter Szarvas, Mayor of Békéscsaba, Tamás Herczeg, Member of Parliament, and József Vincze, Head of the Southern Great Plain Regional Office of the Hungarian School Sport Federation (MDSZ).

The three-day finals featured high-quality matches in both the girls’ and boys’ categories, drawing large crowds of spectators. The battle for podium places was intense and evenly matched.

Since the event was held in the sports hall of the Hungarian EDATS project partner, the Békéscsaba Volleyball Sports Association, it was a natural opportunity to promote the ERASMUS-funded project currently in development. Athletes and professionals showed great interest in the promotional materials and asked numerous questions about the ongoing development. We hope to present concrete results at the conference to be held at the same venue this autumn.
