University of Cagliari, DIMCM, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Materials and Industrial and Biomechanical Ergonomics Laboratory. The University of Cagliari (UNICA), founded in 1620, is a public state University with about 25,000 students and over 1,900 teaching and technical administrative staff. Given its geographic location, it has consolidated relationships and exchanges with the southern Mediterranean countries, at both students and staff levels. It is a multidisciplinary HEI offering an interesting and complete education through 6 Faculties (Biology and Pharmacy; Engineering and Architecture; Medicine and Surgery; Sciences; Economics, Law and Political Sciences; Humanities)
and 15 Departments. The University of Cagliari is member of EDUC – European Digital UniverCity, one of the first 17, European Universities Alliances funded in 2019 by the European Commission with the aim to increase the international competitiveness of European higher education through a shared, integrated, long-term joint strategy for education with links to research and innovation, and to society.
EDUC has now 8 partner universities from 7 European countries. It provides the scientific and technical contribution to the implementation of the integrated innovative system for the evaluation of biomechanical data of young athletes. Scientific activities will be directed by Professor Massimiliano Pau with the help of his research staff and representatives from each individual organization
